Now that the year is coming to an end, we want to take the opportunity to highlight some of this year's (many) awesome Parakey news in our hardware, web portal and app that you may have missed? Parakey Hardware

This year's biggest talk about our smart hardware? - Clearly, the delivery of the product news Parakey Door Handle and Parakey Cylinder has started and has been installed with satisfied customers! The products are battery powered, are independent of internet connection and can be installed both inside and outside, enabling mobile access to all doors.

Parakey Door Handle

Parakey Door Handle is the digital and elegant handle that is ideal for coworking, conference rooms and other semi-public spaces. Be inspired by A house, which during the year installed over 100 handles at its facilities in Stockholm.

Parakey Cylinder

Parakey Cylinder is the flexible cylinder that digitizes all conceivable locks - everything from apartments to padlocks! The real estate company Hemsö chooses to use Parakey Cylinder on technical cabinets throughout its Swedish portfolio and the property owner Corem "saves a lot, a lot of time and money" by having digital access into their technical rooms. 

Parakey Slim

Nor should we forget our smallest (but oh so powerful) weapon Parakey Slim, which during the year created new opportunities at the coworking arena Paréa and increased accessibility and safety at the training chain Itrim. 

During the year, we also launched the possibility to apply Scheduled Unlocks ("Scheduled Door Setup") for Parakey Slim, which means that a schedule can be set for when a lock should be unlocked. 

💡Nice feature alert! Now you can set how Parakey Slim, Cylinder and Door Handle should be locked - automatically (as before) or manually, via the app.

Parakey Web Portal

In early 2024, the next generation of the Parakey Web Portal which meant simpler, better looking and better access management! Since then, there have been even more wonderful improvements! Among other things, there is now the possibility to: 

📱 Limit the number of mobile devices and get alerts on suspicious account sharing

It is now possible to limit the number of mobile devices users can switch between within a certain period of time - to prevent the same account from being used on different phones. If more phones are used than allowed, they are automatically blocked.

It is also possible to receive an alert, weekly via email or on the dashboard, if one or more users are suspected of using more phones than is considered normal for your particular place.

🔓 Require two-factor authentication for administration in the web portal

Require everyone who will administer your place to log in to the web portal with both their password and a one-time code from an authenticator app. This is enabled under Security tab under Settings in the web portal which brings together awesome, new security features.

😀 Require biometric authentication to unlock

In the settings of a specific key, with an administrator role, you can choose to require users to identify themselves an extra time upon unlocking - with facial recognition/fingerprint or phone PIN.

📅 Scheduling the invitation and removal of users 

When you as an administrator invite users, you can schedule when their accounts can start using your place. You can also schedule the deletion of users by clicking on Options in the detail view of a user.

✨ Other small but powerful improvements

• With administrative rights in the web portal, you can now easily add and remove lock and key schemes for multiple locks or keys at once. 
• Emails sent when users are invited to unlock with the smartphone, get an administrator role, want to reset their password, etc. have been shortened and even clearer. 
• Administrators can now change the name of a user in the portal. However, the change only applies to your place in the web portal and does not affect the user's own name choice.
• With an administrator role, you can now turn off all keys on a place, or underlying place, by temporarily locking down the site (lockdown).

Parakey App

🔑 Send keys directly from the app

A highly anticipated feature that allows, for example, residents of apartment buildings to easily give fellow residents access to the premises on which the landlord has installed Parakey, such as rental apartment, laundry room or common room. And for property managers, it will be super easy to send a mobile key on the go, for example to a contractor.

🛠️ Extended installation flow in the app 

The flow for completing an installation in the app has been updated to further help you as an installer to ensure the best possible installation. As an installer, you can now evaluate the placement and range of Parakey Slim, calibrate * Parakey Door Handle (which can also be done afterwards under Tools) and additional settings you could previously only do in the web portal.

*The handle senses its orientation and sets its initial position.

🤳 Create shortcut and unlock directly from the Android home screen 

For those with Android 7.1 or later, you can now create a shortcut to unlock any lock that you can access directly from the home screen.

Parakey integrations

Do you want a access management on autopilot? With Parakey, the possibilities are endless! During the year, we have made a major update to our open API to make it both easier and faster to handle many users when integrating with Parakey. 

We have also launched a native integration supporting Nexudus, a real estate system focused on coworking and flexible workspaces, to meet strong demand from both existing and potential customers. 

Parakey also has a built-in integration with the Zapier integration hub, a plug-n-play solution, to seamlessly interweave with over 7000 other services without having to write code.
