New opportunities at Paréa coworking space with Parakey
Tobias Thorén, Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Paréa
Paréa is a newly started coworking arena located in Mölnlycke just outside Gothenburg. In the summer of 2023, they opened the doors to their premises where they have now implemented mobile access from Parakey to save time, costs and expand their offer with the help of new business models.
At Paréa, we meet Tobias Thorén, founder and operator of the office hotel, and Johan Tellnor from Nilax Security who is at place to make a first installation of Parakey Slim in the shell protection and in several conference rooms.
Tobias says that the three main reasons why Paréa chose Parakey as access control system were automation, scalability and security. After a rigorous effort to probe the market for potential suppliers, it became an obvious choice:
"Parakey ticked all the boxes on our requirement specification. It feels like an innovative player who is constantly working on new integrations. In addition, it is a scalable solution that we can grow together with as a partner, as we get more members and need to install access in additional spaces."
Paréa partly rents out private offices but also has a membership based on being a member without having a dedicated workplace. Tobias says that the members have also been positive about the installation of Parakey:
"Many are familiar with the app and have used Parakey elsewhere and say it works well. This has actually been part of my evaluation work as well, taking in opinions and references from my own customers."
He thinks the most obvious value of mobile access for their coworking is that it removes a physical component that tenants must carry with them in the form of a fob or an access card. Instead, his members can use the smartphone as a key and open Paréa's doors with the Parakey app. He continues:
"Alongside that, I am less tied as an administrator, operationally responsible, to a physical system that has to program fobs and cards. Instead, I can manage everything remotely and ensure that the right people have the right access and there is no risk of losing cards and fobs that could potentially give unauthorized access to Paréa."

Paréa also plans to use an integration between Parakey and the booking system Nexudus for access management on autopilot, where, for example, booking a conference room or a newly signed membership automatically generates a mobile key to the user. Together with all the many features that Parakey offers, including the ability to set a time limit on mobile keys, completely new business opportunities are created for Paréa:
"The biggest difference now that we have installed Parakey is that I can offer completely new products and services, both to my existing members but also to potential new ones in the form of offering short-term access, weekly passes or day passes, but also renting out dedicated rooms and conference rooms to external guests who, through the integration between the access system and the booking system, can get access."
