Accessibility crucial for Linda's Fitness Center

Since 2015, Linda Gunnarsson runs the gym Lindas Fitness Center in the Småland town of Alstermo, between Växjö, Kalmar and Oskarshamn. Initially, a tag system was used to enter the facility, but since 2017 mobile access from Parakey is used through integration with the Wondr business system.

The integration means that a mobile key to Linda's Fitness Center is automatically sent out to exercise-hungry Smålanders when they buy digital memberships on the gym's website. Should a membership be terminated, the mobile key linked to the membership is also automatically removed.

"The use of Parakey has really increased the availability of the gym and thus also our membership. If you lose accessibility, you also risk losing members", says Linda Gunnarsson. 

"I see a big change from when we were using fobs. It has become easier to become a member and get started, customers have said they like that you can get a membership whenever you want without having to make an appointment. Also, we can be open 24/7 instead of opening at 6am and closing at 10pm as we did before."

Linda says that accessibility is crucial for an organization like hers. One summer, for example, membership increased by 400%. So mobile access makes it easier for members, but the management of membership has also become easier.

"In the past, membership management meant a lot of work, but now we save a lot of time" says Linda. "The integration with Wondr works great and it's good to be able to know who goes in and out."

Today there is Parakey Control Unit installed at the gym entrance, but with the launch of the professional digital lock Parakey PDL suitable for doors that do not have an electromechanical lock, Linda now also wants to evaluate which other doors could be digitized.

Finally, she calls Parakey's solution a "godsend" (😊).

"It's not super expensive either and therefore good for smaller businesses as well".
