Jonathan Jaktling, Commercial Manager at Stena Fastigheter Göteborg

At Masthuggskajen in Gothenburg has Stena Fastigheter has built the Stuveriet property - the real estate company's first building with Parakey from the start. Jonathan Jaktling, commercial manager at Stena Fastigheter Gothenburg, tells us more about how mobile keys are used in the office building.

Previously, Parakey has often been a complement to existing access control system, but in Stuveriet, Stena Fastigheter has chosen to run it as a stand-alone solution to unlock entrance doors, common spaces such as conference floors, terrace and sports lounge. Some tenants have also chosen to have Parakey on their own office doors.

"Since we have it on all the common spaces , it will be very easy for them to also run the same access to their own premises," says Jonathan.

Stena Fastigheter has then bought the hardware and included Parakey in the local adaptation. Then the tenant has signed his own license with Parakey, and is responsible for the subscription cost and the administration of his office and his employees in Parakey Web Portal.

In order for tenants with their own Parakey licenses to be able to manage access to the door in the property's main entrance, Stena Fastigheter uses the function to share door.

Jonathan says that they have received a lot of positive feedback from tenants: "Especially that it is simple and easy for them to administer."

The fact that the administration is, as he himself describes it, "super easy" is something that Jonathan highlights as one of the greatest values of using mobile access from Parakey.

"I think it's a fantastic interface. You can click around a bit yourself and actually understand how to do this. Parakey has done that very well. And no matter where I am, as long as I have access to the internet, I can very easily just go in and add people during the hours or days they should have access. So it's easy."

Jonathan describes the classic situation, for property owners, of having to go out to a property with a physical key to open a fan room, substation or similar for a contractor to carry out work.

"Instead, we can do this digitally and give access to these people for a certain number of hours when they need to do the work. Smooth, efficient and sustainable instead of us having to get in the car and go out to a property just to let in someone who can manage on their own. That's time that costs money."

At the same time, the real estate company can easily keep track of when the contractor arrived at the site, through GDPR-compliant logs in Parakey Web Portal.

"If I compare with other access control system that we've had in the past, we get a completely different overview of the data; number of passages, who goes in and out, when. We have often had to turn to someone else before to get this information", says Jonathan.

"It feels like Parakey is on its toes, very open to our views. There are several things that I have felt that we have been able to influence. It is a bit unique perhaps, that you see that it gives results. It has been very appreciated from our side."

Jonathan also highlights that they think it is fun that Parakey is open to finding integrations with other systems.

"Today, with all the open APIs that exist, there is so much you can connect in our properties and it is important for us that we do not lock ourselves to certain things, that there are opportunities to create new collaborations, new functions that make it better and easier both for us as property owners but also for our customers."

Finally, Jonathan mentions his colleagues at Stena Fastigheter Malmö, who he feels have been good at bringing Parakey to the tenants in new premises adaptations.

"It is something I want to try to ensure that we will also have in the future, that there can be some kind of standard level in our premises. As I said, we see great benefits with Parakey and feel confident in recommending it to our tenants."
