Let tenants manage their own keys with Parakey

Parakey stands out from other access systems in several ways. With Parakey, you no longer need to manage keys, tags, cards, or codes. Instead, you can conveniently and securely unlock spaces using your smartphone. Access management is managed via Parakey Web Portal, where you also have the option to delegate administration, allowing tenants, for example, to manage mobile access for their staff independently.
Let's take an example where a commercial property owner wants to delegate administration to their tenants and contractors. Watch the video to get a quick overview of how it works. 👇
💡In a customer case where the property owner delegated administration to the tenant, they were able to reduce the time the property manager spent on key management from 60% to less than 3% of their working hours. This freed-up time is now used for other property management tasks.
Benefits of delegated administration
If a property owner grants rights to their tenants, they can independently manage locked spaces, such as their own office doors or street entrances.
- Save time and resources - Tenants can manage mobile keys themselves without contacting the property owner. Avoid the hassle of lost tags or unauthorized access.
- Maintain control and security - The property owner determines which locks and how many users the tenant can manage and can also revoke access for users and Sub places.
- Seamless onboarding and flexibility - The property owner no longer needs to introduce and train tenants in Parakey Web Portal and App. New tenants receive an onboarding email and a guided tour in the portal, allowing them to start administration immediately. This streamlines move-ins and move-outs, which is especially relevant as more companies downsize their office spaces and the number of tenants increases.

How delegated administration works in Parakey Web Portal
By creating, what we refer to as, a Sub place in Parakey Web Portal to tenants where the property owner share their locks, the tenants themselves can invite, assign and remove access for their own users.

The property owner determines which locks the tenants can send keys to, how many users they can invite, and who within the tenant’s organization should be the administrator.

Let Denice walk you through the step-by-step process of delegating administration in the Parakey Web Portal. 👇
💡For the slightly more advanced cases: For example, if a tenant has already installed Parakey on their office door themselves, the property owner can choose to share a lock to their already existing place. The tenant can then manage access to the lock from there, without the property owner having to create a Sub place or credit their users in their place.
The tenant manages access Independently
Once the property owner invites tenants as administrators, Parakey’s automated onboarding takes over. 👇
1. An invitation email is sent to the Sub place administrator(s) with a link to Parakey Web Portal and instructions for getting started.

2. Upon first login, the tenant receives a guided tour of the web portal, eliminating the need for the property owner to spend time on training.
3. The tenant can send and remove keys independently, reducing the workload on the property manager.
4. Users who receive access from the tenant get a digital key and can quickly and easily unlock doors using the Parakey App.
5. The tenant can view event logs for doors shared with their Sub place. The property owner has access to logs for all Sub places if desired, but can choose to hide logs for specific doors to comply with policies such as GDPR.
