Digital real estate solutions - a matter of habit
The PropTech map has grown continuously in recent years, but how ready is the industry and potential users for new technologies in real estate?
Based on the premise that it should generate added value for both property owners and residents, Slättö is one of the companies in a generally conservative industry that is happy to test new digital solutions.
"There is a lot of time to be gained and a lot of savings that also provide increased value throughout the value chain," said Oskar Gustafsson at Slättö in a conversation with Parakey and the housing app Avy, two digital solutions that Slättö has implemented to facilitate its management and at the same time offer a better service to the residents.
"I'm always in favor of using digitalization to improve every property we have, but every property also has different conditions," says Oskar.
Properties have different clientele, with varying digital habits. In the beginning, it may feel a little unfamiliar to use the smartphone as a key to unlock the door instead of a physical key and likewise to pay the rent via a housing app, but both Oskar and Avy's CEO Joacim Gustafsson emphasize that it is just a matter of habit - you get used to it and find that you like it. Joacim uses the wallet as a comparison:
"As soon as you get an Apple wallet, for example, you no longer need a physical wallet. With a digital key, there is no need to have a physical key anymore. Everything is much smoother, in all aspects. I think it's only a matter of time before this becomes standard in all properties."
And what do users say?
The message to both property owners and those who live, work and move in properties is to dare to try, because there is much to gain - time, costs and a better experience of today's and tomorrow's properties.
