Parakey grows further, now focusing on app & Android

With many new features in the pipeline, we were happy to welcome not only one, but two Android developers to the team in April. It's great to have you on the journey Bjarne Gelotte and Humberto Linero!

"Bjarne and Humberto have taken two important positions and are now strengthening our development team with a focus on our Android application. They have quickly entered the company and are ambitious and talented. It's great to have them on board!" says product owner Marcus Andersson.

Bjarne holds a master's degree in IT from Chalmers University of Technology and has also studied design and product development at Linköping University. He comes most recently from a similar role at Forza Football and has great interest in both software development and football where the team closest to the heart is ÖIS.

With a great interest in smart cities, IoT and of course Android, Humberto comes most recently from a role as Research Engineer at Chalmers. He grew up in Panama and holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of South Florida. In 2016 Humberto moved to Gothenburg and also holds a master's degree in the same subject from the University of Gothenburg.

What determined your choice to join Parakey?

Bjarne: The chance to develop as a software developer. It was clear that Parakey has a great focus on developing its employees and that you can spend time studying and getting better at what you do. Above all, the dev team's book circle* and being able to spend time on quality attracted.

*Parakey's development team reads a couple of books a year that all developers can get value from.

Humberto: I liked the idea of working with a software system that helps create "smarter and more connected access solutions".

What are you looking forward to accomplishing at Parakey?

Humberto: To develop my knowledge as a software developer and at the same time contribute to the development of "the Parakey Android system" used by thousands of people in Sweden.

Bjarne: Partly to improve and scale up the current app to even more users and to be able to develop yourself and become even better at what I do.

What do you prefer to do on your vacation?

Bjarne: I like to travel but am also happy to only be out in nature. Hiking and camping is lovely!

Humberto: I like cycling. And summer is my favorite time of year to make trips around Sweden.

If you were a fictional character, what tv show would you be in?

Humberto: I'd be Iron Man because he's tech-savvy.

Bjarne: A dwarf in the upcoming Lord of the Rings series!
