FV: Andrée Rehnberg, Emil Janitzek and Jacob Gavin.

Behind every successful web portal is a strong development team! At Parakey, it consists of three superheroes - Emil, Jacob and Andrée - who together develop Parakey Web Portal where over 1000 customers manage their digital access management. They always have the customer in focus to create the best and most user-friendly mobile access experience. Keep reading to get to know the team better and get an idea of what their work entails.

Emil Janitzek, Head of Engineering - Core

Emil was previously CTO and co-founder of a startup in MedTech before becoming one of Parakey's first employees in 2017. Today he is our Head of Engineering - Core and has overall responsibility for the technical solution and the team that develops the administration portal as well as the underlying systems that ensure that Parakey works quickly and safely. Outside of work, Emil is a real fan of cooking, brews his own beer and likes to travel to the US whenever he gets a chance.

Emil, can you describe what you do in the Core team during the day?

- The Core team develops the underlying system that makes Parakey run. We have a flexible way of working where the focus is on finding the best solutions together when we develop new features. In addition to being responsible for the administration portal, we also monitor and maintain the systems used by Parakey's hardware, apps and API for third-party integrators.

What do you think is the (mobile) key to your successful team?

- Driving and committed developers, that everyone feels ownership of the product and what we develop. That we build Parakey together.

‍Ifyou were stranded on a desert island, which three items would you take and why?

- Would probably be restless without my laptop, would have to bring solar cells to charge it and my Weber grill. 😄

Jacob Gavin, Developer

Jacob, or Jake as we call him, has been working at Parakey since 2019 which makes him part of the core of the Core team. He is everyone's UX master and makes it easier than easy to send mobile keys in seconds. When Jake leaves work for the day, he also masters the role of father of two and has a strong interest in all forms of ball sports, especially golf.

Jake, can you share a memorable moment from your career at Parakey?‍

- When we launched the new Parakey Web Portal! We had worked long and hard on it and developed many improvements behind the scenes that could finally be used in the new portal. It's always nerve-wracking to release something brand new to customers that you've put a lot of time and love into, you hope it will be well received. 😊

What do you consider to be the main strengths of your team?‍

- That we all have a strong common knowledge, but that in addition to that, everyone has their own special knowledge. This means that you are constantly learning new things from everyone in the team.

If you had unlimited time and money, what hobby would you like to do?‍

- It is a difficult one. I have many different things I like so it's hard to choose just one. I guess it would be golf if a friend was in the same situation so we could play together.

Andrée Rehnberg, Developer

Andrée is our full-stack star who has been a great asset to the team since 2023 when he took the step into the heat at Parakey. He has had an interest in technology since childhood and chose to become a developer because he appreciates the problem solving that is found in programming. Andrée makes sure to build a really nice user experience for our customers with code, but is also a homeowner and climbing professional.

Andrée, what is the most fun thing about your job as a developer at Parakey?‍

- My good and knowledgeable colleagues, for sure. It's always fun to come into the office. We are constantly developing the way we work and there is always the opportunity to discuss and raise challenges that you face. The job also involves a lot of knowledge development - the book circle we have once a week is a good example of how we broaden our horizons.

Then I like the mix of partly tackling tasks in pair programming sessions, but at the same time having the opportunity to immerse yourself on your own. We also tend to take some breaks from the work to play, which gives us a lot of energy. It is also very satisfying to put colleagues on place, says Andrée with a twinkle in his eye (or?).

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?‍

- Teleportation, I think. Imagine how nice it would be to be able to transport yourself wherever you want in a flash? Alternatively, talk to animals, I mean - what does Findus want when he meows so persistently?
