Massive update of Parakey PDL and functionality in the Parakey app

We are so excited to launch a massive package of new functionality in the apps and brand new software in our game changer product; Parakey PDL that will be both more robust and smarter. The Parakey app gets accessibility support, makes installations easier and forced unlocks possible.

Keep in mind that you need to update the Parakey PDL firmware and apps to access all functionality. 

Unlock Parakey PDL in all modes

It is now possible to unlock the Parakey PDL in all kinds of "error modes". A door that is not fully closed, a faulty end plate, a hook bolt that does not run freely or a door that hangs are examples that may have made it difficult for the Parakey PDL to function optimally, but not anymore. 

With a new feature we call "forced unlock", Parakey PDL can always be unlocked regardless of the position of the lock or door. The function is automatically activated if you try to unlock the same door twice within 30 seconds, unless the first attempt was unsuccessful. Alternatively, you can force an unlock from a door's detail view, which is accessed by clicking on the "i" next to the door's name in the "Unlock view".

Parakey PDL returns to locked mode

Now the Parakey PDL will no longer remain unlocked if someone has accidentally unlocked a Parakey PDL via the app. If the handle is not pressed within 30 seconds of a successful unlock in the app, the lock will revert to locked mode.

Calibrate locks directly from the app

Doors are of different materials, thickness, quality and are installed in different environments. It is now possible for administrators and installers to perform a calibration (also called initialization) of the Parakey PDL directly from the Parakey app by clicking on the "i" next to the door name in the "Unlock view".

Parakey PDL is now also smart enough to calibrate itself according to the installation and environment to ensure that the lock works optimally.

Updated login view helps new users

Our new login view is much more than just an improved look (a look that shows the way where the whole app design is going). We've also made it easier to reset your password, but also to get help if you're a first-time user and haven't received your login details.

Improved accessibility support in the iOS app

Parakey's iPhone app has been extended to support dynamic text, which means that the size of text will be larger for users who have selected this under "Accessibility" in the iOS system settings.

Installer tools in the apps sneak out

Tools for installers are sneaking out in the apps, tools that facilitate the installation of Parakey Control Unit and PDL. First up is a feature to complete an installation in the app and ensure it's as awesome as it can be. These features will gradually become available to installers throughout the year.
