Mobile access to the apartment is now a reality

During 2020, the PropTech company Parakey has worked intensively on the development of the professional digital lock Parakey PDL. Now the lock is launched to revolutionize mobile access to more door environments, in more types of properties.

"Together with Parakey's access platform, integration capabilities and hardware used to control already installed electromechanical locks, Parakey PDL, our professional digital lock, now enables mobile access for entire properties and portfolio", says Jonas Arvidsson, CEO of Parakey.

Now more doors in the commercial property can be enriched with mobile access from Parakey. An application area identified by the demanding steering group consisting of representatives from Wallenstam, Stena Fastigheter, Klövern and Fabege is interior doors that currently lack an electromechanical lock. This could, for example, be the door to the smaller office, conference room, utility rooms and storage room. The real estate companies see great value in quick installation without damage to the door, reduced access management costs and the opportunity to offer new services while increasing security.

"Parakey PDL has been developed based on our customers' wishes, to reduce costs and resources and enable real estate companies to realize new business models and a better customer experience. Our digital lock also supports the traditional key and can even be controlled by another access control system. This enables a gradual transition to mobile access and digital access management, which is unique", says Jonas Arvidsson.

Parakey's digital lock is developed to also be installed on apartment doors and make it possible for residents to easily provide temporary mobile access to guests and visitors. One of several unique details is that it is not visible that it is a digital lock, which provides a more aesthetically pleasing door environment, without the possibility of sabotage or tampering with the lock.

Parakey PDL also streamlines access management for public spaces in apartment buildings. It becomes easier to control access to, for example, laundry rooms, common rooms and work-from-home offices. The professional digital lock, together with Parakey's access platform, is also a preparation and enabler for future Last Mile deliveries.
