Parakey & Parakey dormakaba digitizes locks without it being visible
Parakey and dormakaba are already partners in the development of the professional digital lock Parakey PDL, for commercial use. Now also launches dormakaba a corresponding product for private individuals; dormakaba dKey, which means that there is now a solution for each market. At the sectech security fair, they tell us more.
In the fall of 2020, the PropTech company Parakey launched the professional digital lock Parakey PDL, which is mainly aimed at property owners, both with commercial properties and apartment buildings. The lock house is developed by dormakaba and enriched with functionality from Parakey that makes it possible to unlock doors to, for example, apartments, common areas, conference rooms, technical rooms, storage rooms and laundry rooms - with one click in the smartphone.
"We have often been asked if Parakey PDL can be purchased for villas, by private individuals, but our underlying access platform is developed and adapted to handle locks and users for the entire portfolio, with integrations to ERP systems, booking systems and more. With dormakaba dKey is instead offered to the domestic market a solution specifically designed for the needs of the individual household", says Peter Wegdell, Head of Sales at Parakey.
The newly launched digital lock dormakaba dKey is thus aimed at the consumer market. Same lock case used to Parakey PDL, its dimensions follow Nordic lock case standard and it is installed in the door leaf without damage to the door.
"The technology is so smart that it's invisible, which has been requested for both security and aesthetic reasons. Choose the handle that best suits your home and invite family members and guests to open the front door with their phone. However, maybe the youngest children should not have a mobile key and they can use the physical key", says Tore Brænna, Head of Business Development EAD at dormakaba Scanbalt.
