At year-end, PropTech company Parakey announced a user base of 225,000 unique users. In just one quarter, another 25,000 people have started using their mobile to open locked doors with Parakey. Thus, the company now has a quarter of a million users and once again consolidates its position as the Nordic region's leading provider of mobile access!
Since the pandemic broke out two years ago, Parakey has more than doubled its workforce, with new offices in both Stockholm and Malmö, launched the market's first professional digital lock with mobile access, and gone from 100 to 250,000 users.
Satisfied, happy and proud of strong growth so far, but this year Parakey will accelerate further, with many new colleagues and three more major product launches - entirely based on requests from customers, including some of Sweden's largest real estate companies. Parakey's CEO and co-founder Jonas Arvidsson tells us more:
What does 2022 look like for Parakey?
"We already see that 2022 will mean strong growth for Parakey, both in terms of new customers and users in the system. With a brand new web portal - sneakily launched in the days - which makes mobile access management even easier and smoother, new exciting integration partners and not yet communicated framework agreement customers, a lot is happening at Parakey, and all this only now during the spring!"
"Organisationally, we will of course continue our expansion, with the aim of doubling the number of employees during the year, from the current 21 stars. Hence, we are continuously looking for good and driven people with high competence in their field, who can strengthen the team and become part of our company and its culture."
What are the main trends in the market?
"We now clearly see that property owners and users of spaces in properties have realized that the most important thing in a property's digitization journey is to set a digital and mobile infrastructure for access. Where issues of reliability and robustness, high security and good integration opportunities are requirements."
"We also see effects of Covid where there is a faster transition of business models; shorter leases, ready-to-move-in offices, more coworking - and thus an increased demand for mobile access adapted to these new models."
250,000 users - what does that mean?
"Last autumn we reached 200,000 users, 225,000 at the end of the year and already after one quarter 250,000, a fantastic growth thanks to great colleagues, customers and partners. But this is just the beginning of the journey for Parakey!"
Parakey AB develops and sells a digital access platform where a smartphone is used to open locked spaces such as apartments, offices, garages, etc. A mobile key is distributed digitally via Parakey's access platform to the user and the service is administered via Parakey's web portal or via integration.
