Saved time and increased security – we discussed mobile access with Emmie Andjelic Ekholm and Sebastian Kackarovski at Stena Fastigheter Malmö.

When we met Emmie Andjelic Ekholm in 2023, she was a commercial property manager responsible for seven properties equipped with mobile access from Parakey. Even then, there was a clear focus on creating a more cohesive and flexible access solution—both for Stena as the property owner and for their tenants.

"We have decided to continue expanding our system of Parakey devices, and have therefore also added mobile access to the tenant adaptations we are carrying out in my properties, as we already have Parakey installed in perimeter protection other common spaces. This provides customers with a comprehensive solution. Of course, we also offer this solution to existing commercial tenants if they are interested," Emmie said at the time.

"Our tenants appreciate being able to easily distribute and remove mobile keys to employees on their own and that the matter no longer needs to go through us as property owners."

From the property owner's perspective, the implementation of Parakey had a positive impact on day-to-day operations, both for Emmie as commercial manager and, above all, for the property managers.

“Previously, our property managers spent a lot of time driving around and handing out keys, both to customers and contractors working in our properties. Now we can grant access remotely with just a few clicks, which frees up time for our staff. In addition, Parakey gives us greater insight into who has access to our properties, which is an important aspect of creating security for our tenants," Emmie continued, concluding:

“We find Parakey very user-friendly. The role of property managers has changed significantly in recent years, and they now work almost exclusively with digital tools. So providing access via a digital solution is a natural step in our digital journey. The Parakey system provides a clear logic between the different properties, customers, contractors, and the keys that have been created. We also appreciate that we can schedule and limit the access we grant in advance, which is an important security issue.”

How are things three years later?

Three years later, we meet Emmie again—now in the role of customer and concept manager—together with Sebastian Kackarovski, assistant commercial property manager at Stena Fastigheter in Malmö.

Since last time, work on Parakey has been scaled up further. The number of properties with mobile access has increased, and Parakey continues to be added as a natural part of tenant adaptations where the solution is already in place.

Emmie and Sebastian feel that both the industry and tenants are increasingly ready for the digital transition. Digital solutions are in ever-greater demand and have become a natural part of the offering.

“This is the next step in the digital transition. Just as we once moved from keys to fob, we are now moving on to digital access. We see Parakey making us a more attractive property owner,” says Sebastian.

Parakey as part of the whole at Trikåfabriken

The knitwear factory in Malmö, where Stena Fastigheter is now planning a new production building in an already established neighborhood, is a clear example of how Parakey becomes part of the whole.

Parakey is currently the property's only access control system and when the new building is constructed, it will be built on the same digital foundation. Smooth, digital access management thus access management a natural part of the overall offering, even for new tenants.

“It’s about offering modern, digital solutions that make everyday life easier. Flexibility and convenience are valuable to users, while administration becomes quick easy for us,” concludes Sebastian.
