Simple administration, greater security, and the ability to give employees access to multiple offices. For the IT and management company Consid, which operates in several locations in Sweden and internationally, mobile access has become an integral part of a smooth and flexible everyday life.

We visited Consid's office in Malmö and met Peter Elgåker, Regional Manager for Region South, responsible for the offices in Malmö, Helsingborg, Lund, and Trelleborg, and Sofia Nilsson, Facility Manager.

Today, Parakey is used in about one-third of Consid's offices in Sweden—primarily for access to the premises, but it is also linked to functions such as security alarm fire extinguishing systems.

“The reason we use Parakey – and also recommend the solution when we set up new offices – is its simplicity. It is a product that is easy to understand, both for those who install and administer it, but also for those who use it. It is very resource-efficient,” says Sofia.

Mobile access across offices

For an organization with many offices, the ability to easily assign access between different locations is a major asset—and one of the main reasons Consid chose Parakey.

In the Southern Region, Peter is the main administrator in Parakey, which means he can manage access for all offices in the region and has also delegated administration to the respective office managers. Each office can thus manage access for its own employees, while Peter retains the central overview.

“If a colleague in Malmö wants to visit Helsingborg for a day, I can easily give them a temporary key so they can access the premises during the day. It makes things so much easier,” says Peter.

He also highlights the international perspective on the same theme:

“We are a large organization with colleagues not only in Sweden but also in other countries, who sometimes need to travel between offices even at inconvenient working hours. If someone comes here from Norway, for example, they can get in without having to rely on someone being place.”

Sofia sees the same advantage in her own everyday life:

“I have a central role and travel a lot. It’s a huge advantage that I can get a temporary key just by giving a heads-up that I’ll be at an office on a certain day. It makes me much more self-sufficient.”

Parakey or traditional tagging system – what is the big difference?

Before Parakey, Consid used a traditional tag system—something that became both time-consuming and frustrating over time.

“We used a tag system for many years and eventually got pretty fed up with it. It involved a lot of administration and was an incredible job to keep track of all fobs. Suddenly they ran out and you had to order new ones when someone new started at the office. We chose Parakey for its simplicity—an easy-to-use web interface where we can manage access without any hassle. We haven't regretted it since. Never go back," says Peter with a (big) smile. 👇

Employees also appreciate being able to use the smartphone keys.

“The best thing about mobile access is convenience – you always have your phone with you. Being able to tap, but also go into the Parakey app and open the door is super convenient. And a big advantage of Parakey is that I can use it in all our offices," says Filippa Ahlcrona, HR & Tech recruiter at Consid.

In addition to convenience, Sofia concludes by highlighting the security aspect:

“With fobs keys, I feel that the human factor has a greater impact. Thanks to Parakey’s user-friendliness, we have better control over who has access and who doesn’t. There’s no longer the classic problem fobs or keys going missing.”
