Digital travel is one, by many, buzzword that it is preached around about what to think about, how to start and what to accomplish. A common content about what to keep in mind is to set goals regarding what is desired to achieve with digital solutions. Then review their current status and where in the journey you are. These two variables defined make it easier to see what needs to be done and what digital tools there are on the market that can meet the need.

Digital parking permits

For locked parking garages, where parkrangers are allowed to subscribe to a place for a long time, is a first step in a digital journey to implement and start using digital parking permits. With digital parking permits, the park operator is given the opportunity to place , book the place and sign an agreement online wherever it is as long as there is internet access.

Physical patches are saved which makes it easier for both the park operator and parking operators, instead the vehicle's license plate is registered online and the park operator no longer needs to keep in mind to put the note visible in the front window. Digital parking permits not only shorten the management and issuance of digital permits, but also provide a better overview of the availability and occupancy of the parking garages. With a more accurate and accurate picture of the availability of a garage, the parking operator can optimize its spaces more effectively.

Using digital tools, signing for contracts has shifted from an analog approach to a digital execution, where the parkoperator conducts online e-signing along with his mobile bank ID. Since the contract process can now be handled digitally, both the park operator and the parking operator save time when a physical movement is no longer necessary.

Automatic rental process

A digital parking permit streamlines and simplifies the first steps of a rental process for the parker and internally for the parking operator. The final step that allows the parker to actually unlock and park their vehicle is usually done analogically using a physical fob or remote control. The simplicity of being able to have an automatic flow through the entire rental process is slowed down as the opening method that many parking companies offer their parkers involves a physical movement. The administration of fobs and remote controls is also a costly item for the parking operator. Purchases and the cost of working hours are included in each issue, which can mean that if fob or a remote control is lost, the parker is charged as the parking operator needs to issue a new one.

Parakey has already been used by many locked parking garages around the country. After dialogue with several parking operators and businesses, the development has led to Parakey's system with mobile keys being integrated with business systems for digital parking permits. Below we compile suppliers of digital parking permits that have connected their system with Parakey's mobile keys:
- Giant Leap
- Parkera.se (run by Smspark).

In the first three steps of the rental process, the parker fills in the relevant information required by the parking company, which is then used to create a mobile key for the individual parker. When the parker receives a confirmation of the rental of the parking space in the locked garage, a mobile key is automatically sent. With mobile keys, neither the parker nor the parking company needs to make any physical movement, instead a key is sent digitally, in seconds, to the parker. The control from the parking companies becomes much better when the mobile key is created with time restrictions based on the rental period, for example, if a parker has chosen to subscribe to a place from the first of July to the last of July, the mobile key is only active during this time period.
‍
Together with Parakey and one of the aforementioned systems, key management can now be put on autopilot where the manual effort for administration and management becomes significantly less while it becomes easier and provides a better experience for the individual parker.

Would you be interested to hear how mobile keys could make it easier for your parkrangers and streamline your operations?

Considerations to make when choosing access control systems

When thinking about investing in a access control system , it is important to think about what functions the access control system will perform.
